Located within the heritage-listed former West Olympia Theatre, 25hours Hotel The Olympia brings new life to one of Sydney’s historic entertainment venues. Originally opened in 1911 as a 2,500-seat cinema, the building has a long history on Oxford Street, including its later life as The Grand Pacific Blue Room. The hotel celebrates this heritage through playful interiors, vintage cinema references and a strong connection to the unique character and culture of Oxford Street.
The design was developed through a collaboration between Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, Indyk Architects and Woods Bagot, retaining key heritage features while introducing a contemporary identity. From the eclectic communal lobby to its curated furniture, artwork and cinematic details, the hotel combines old-world character with a fresh, modern approach.
